Water Level at Little Falls: 2.8     Water Temperature: 64

Very, very little turn out for yesterday's mini workfest. I think we need to send out more email reminders about all Island events, especially since we no longer send out the printed version of the Islander. Maybe we could get some kind of email bulletin board that people can sign up for if they want to be informed about all Island events. I guess people don't realize that this is a volunteer club and not much is going to get done unless members pitch in. It's really funny, the number of people asking me when the construction is going to be finished or when the club phone is going to be installed.

"Artistic Tree Experts" will be here on Thursday to do the major tree cutting that needs to be done.

Water Level at Little Falls: 2.6     Water Temperature: 65

It may be October but the yankees and Europeans were still out there swimming in the river yesterday. Today is a little more fall-like and I don't expect any swimmers today. It could be the end of the season.

We got all the tree work done on Thursday. The Island looks a lot different now and I think its going to take a while to get used to not having all those tree branches hanging over the house.

The migrating birds are passing through again. I saw a black-throated grey warbler and I've been noticing many raptors soaring above.
